I have room in my workshop for 35 violins. As time goes by I intend to have the best 35 violins that I can both afford and manage to acquire. At this writing they are priced from $350 to $12,000, and average +/-$3000. The few that I have for under $1500.00 seemed better to me at one time, not that they are bad at all, and I had valued them at twice that. I am doing well and am ready to get better ones. They are a great deal if you are starting down the viloin playing path, and I have the advantage over some others in this business;take care of it and I will give full purchase value for them when you are ready to trade up.

Roman Gogushi: A contemporary Polish maker. While this instrument was presented to me as being in the Topa school, I find it to be a much warmer instrument than any Topa I've owned or played. Not quite as loose as a Topa tends to be, but utterly focused and lush, with great projection and a certain beauty in the sound that most makers only dream of getting.

2009 - $4500
Wojciech Topa: - This is the work of a Polish Master maker. I currently have just 1 of these very good/excellent new violins.  For my taste,Ttis is the best of the 7 I have had so far. It has all the volume and clarity Topas are known for, plus an exquisite depth of tone none of the others showed to me. Warmth without muddiness, clarity without any unpleasant edge, the best violin I personally have yet owned.

2009 - $1100
Tien Li: I have 2 of these as I write. One is good at $1400, the other Very Good at $2400. Both are Guarnari pattern and distressed. They are very sweet but are distinguished by their response, which is as good as it gets in my experience.By response I mean the ease with which the bow generates  sound. Both of these instrument are unlikely to squawk when asked to sound. This is a great quality.

$1400 and $2400
